Anderson Mill Campground

Anderson Mill Campground

Anderson Mill Campground is a historic site near Marysville, Victoria, Australia. It was formerly a mill established in the early 1860s by John Anderson, a Scottish migrant who made and lost his fortune in gold. The mill was powered by a water wheel and used to grind flour and oats. It was a major industrial site in its day, and at its peak employed over 100 people.

The mill closed in the early 1900s, but the site remained largely intact. In the 1970s, it was recommended that the site be purchased by the Victorian Government due to its historical significance. The mill was acquired in 1987, and it has been managed by Parks Victoria since 1996.

The mill is now a popular campground that has around 20 non-allocated sites. The campground is a great place to enjoy the outdoors, and it is also a great place to learn about the history of the area.
